Should We Let Overly Emotional Pleas Stop Our Support for Police?

In the wake of even more shootings that the media is labeling “unarmed black man shot by cop,” the outcry for, well, nothing in particular is becoming a deafening chorus.

What exactly is society supposed to do for the families of the deceased? What measures is the nation as a whole supposed to take for an issue that is glaringly local, no matter what side of the debate you are on? The fact that there are sides is a problem in itself – police and citizens are not on opposite sides of this nation. This is one of the first issues that needs to be addressed.

Nonetheless, the liberal media is taking this headline straight to the bank. The fact that the families are getting on the microphone talking about everything but solutions is music to the ears of these bloodstained networks. The reason that they put the microphone in front of these grieving families is precisely because they make no sense. The media asks them deep political questions that people in the middle of the most comfortable classrooms have not been able to solve.

What is the moral of this story? Local issues being made national news are slowing us all down. It is dividing us. Nothing is going to get solved for these families or for the cops who have to do business in the wake of this media mess. Congratulations, liberal media – you are letting emotional pleas for nothing completely deter good police work.
