Trump Plans to Cut Planned Parenthood Funding
Once more, President Trump is on the verge of fulfilling yet another campaign promise. This time, Trump is enacting something that conservatives and pro-life activists have long been fighting for – cutting federal funding for Planned Parenthood.
Many pro-life individuals across the country have been sickened by the fact that their tax dollars are helping fund an organization that oversees the slaughter of millions of unborn babies each year — and an organization that was caught in the act of selling the body parts of aborted babies to third parties. Now, though, they may finally be able to rest easy knowing that they are no longer inadvertently funding such actions.
Title X was a program designed to provide federal funding to family planning centers. However, Planned Parenthood has been able to secure a large portion of Title X funding by claiming that they offer family planning services outside of abortion, and that none of the Title X money was going to fund abortions. Both of these claims are dubious at best.
President Trump has said, however, that no facility offering abortions will be eligible to receive Title X funding. The result will be a $60 million cut in federal funding that was going to Planned Parenthood.
