The Democratic Party’s Civil War is Now in Full Swing

This conflict has been a long time coming. And based on what we’re witnessing now, we don’t see how the Democratic Party comes out of this unscathed.

The roots for this go back several years, but reached a fever pitch in 2016 with the showdown between Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and rival Hillary Clinton. When Clinton cinched the nomination, progressive Americans widely viewed it as the DNC playing favorites by picking the more electable candidate — you know, the one who didn’t honeymoon in the Soviet Union and praise bread lines as a “good thing.”

In 2020, we’re seeing many of these same fights play out, this time between the aforementioned Sanders what his supporters call the “conservative” wing of the Democratic Party. Considering that every single Democrat is advocating for free healthcare for illegal immigrants, erasing America’s borders, and reversing the economic gains made under the Trump Administration, we’re not sure where they’re getting that label from — but it doesn’t matter.

Since 2018, this has been inevitable: Democrats are now launching a full-scale political war on themselves. Here’s Sargon of Akkad with more.
