America’s Immigration Crisis Has Serious Economic Consequences

Ever since it became politically expedient for the Democratic party to support open borders, Democrats have brushed off the effects of illegal immigration, deeming it a non-issue. However, this position completely ignores both the economic and national security threats that illegal immigration poses.

According to our best estimates, illegal immigration costs the United States somewhere around $300 billion each year. This expense comes from providing various benefits to illegal immigrants who often get away with paying little to nothing back in taxes.

This is a staggering expense. Consider the fact that building the border wall would only cost around $70 billion on the high end. Democrats balk at this number, yet, given the cost of illegal immigration, the border wall would pay for itself in less than three months if it put a halt to illegal immigration entirely.

There are other economic costs to illegal immigration as well that the $300 billion a year number doesn’t even consider – namely, the fact that illegal immigrants compete with American citizens for jobs.

It’s an undeniable reality that illegal immigration is a huge burden on the US economy, yet Democrats deny it all the same. To learn more about the economic impact of illegal immigration, be sure to check out the video below.
