Ben Shapiro SLAMS Nike’s Kaepernick Campaign

In one of the most baffling business decisions in modern time, Nike decided to bring on the Colin Kaepernick – the unaccomplished quarterback who single-handedly tanked the NFL’s ratings – as the primary spokesperson for their new “Just Do It” campaign. The tagline that Nike has associated with Kaepernick reads, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, as well as many other Americans, wants to know just what it is that Colin Kaepernick sacrificed.

Kaepernick would claim that he sacrificed his NFL career for his cause, that his activism has caused him to be blackballed by NFL teams. This seems to be the claim that Nike is supporting, yet it’s an absurd one nonetheless.

Colin Kaepernick was a struggling backup quarterback at the time he started kneeling during the national anthem. At the time before he was benched, Kaepernick was rated as the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. The fact that Kaepernick was never signed by another NFL team after being released by the 49ers has nothing to do with his off the field antics, and everything to do with his miserable on the field performance. If anything, Colin Kaepernick ‘s activism has landed him a lucrative Nike contract. After all, there aren’t too many out of work, backup quarterbacks starring in Nike ads.
