Ben Shapiro’s Epic Response to a UC Berkeley Student’s Question on Abortion

On September 14, conservative author and talk show host Ben Shapiro appeared for a speech on the campus of UC Berkeley – a university that has put itself at the heart of the free speech controversy by caving to groups such as ANTIFA and preventing conservative figures from speaking on their campus.

Thankfully, in the case of Ben Shapiro, the police were allowed to do their jobs, ANTIFA was kept at bay, and the event went off without a hitch.

At the end of his speech, Ben Shapiro opened up the event to questions from the students in attendance. While Mr. Shapiro received a number of great (and not so great) questions from conservatives and liberals alike, his dialogue with one liberal student on abortion became an instant classic.

Fielding a question about why a fetus has moral value, Shapiro begins to explain why the only definition of life that works in every situation is to say that life, and thus moral value, begins at conception. It’s a great answer, but it’s when the student tries to counter Mr. Shapiro’s argument that the answer becomes epic.

In less than two minutes, Mr. Shapiro forces the student to change his argument twice before finally admitting defeat, all while drawing a rousing ovation from the crowd in attendance. It’s the most brutal yet completely logical and fact-based takedown of liberal talking points on abortion that we’ve seen.

Make no mistake; Ben Shapiro is one of the wittiest debaters on the conservative side, and that wit is on full display in the video below.
