California Governor Pulls National Guard Troops Away from Border

While the border wall receives the vast majority of attention, President Donald Trump’s plan to strengthen border security has been multi-faceted. Part of that plan involves calling on the governors of border states to send the National Guard to help protect the border. While California Governor Jerry Brown was willing to go along with this request, Brown’s successor hasn’t been so accommodating.

In what was obviously little more than a rebuttal of President Trump, Gov. Gavin Newsom has revealed that he plans to pull hundreds of troops away from the border in the coming months. This policy comes at a time when the situation at the border is worse than it has ever been before.

Democrats such as Gov. Newsom, Nancy Pelosi, and many others claim to be in favor of border security while at the same time purposefully opposing every single step that Trump makes to secure the border. Whether this opposition comes from a hatred of Donald Trump, a genuine lack of regard for border security, or both is difficult to say. Either way, the Democratic party continues to do everything in its power to keep our borders from being safe and secure.
