The left’s outrage over the Trump administration’s treatment of illegal immigrants at the border is selective and dishonest. News outlets like CNN and MSNBC know very well that the policies being enforced by Trump and ICE are Obama era policies.
They also know very well that the Obama administration still holds the record for deportations of illegal Mexican immigrants. They also know that Obama’s stance on illegal immigration was to the right of Trump’s in 2005, and that he changed it for political expediency.
The people who are out in the streets harassing members of Trump’s cabinet and Trump supporters may not know these things. But they are guilty of intellectual laziness for simply believing everything they are told by the left-wing media, which is doing everything in its power to destabilize the United States.
The fact is every person who commits a crime and is arrested for it is separated from any children they may have for as long as they are detained. What’s more, the children who are being held at the border are being treated very well. They are well sheltered, have comfortable beds, good food, medical care, and entertainment while they are being held. That is far better than what the children of citizen criminals are promised.
This whole debate is based on lies and political tribalism, and people like the irresponsible Maxine Waters should be arrested for inciting riots.
