Cory Booker’s Campaign is Already the Most Cringe-Worthy
New Jersey Senator Corey Booker recently announced his intention to run for President in 2020. The announcement itself came as no surprise, as Booker has been positioning himself for a Presidential run for some time now. However, the manner in which Booker made this announcement has certainly raised a few eyebrows.
The announcement video largely hinges around Booker admitting that he grew up in Newark, NJ at a time when it wasn’t a pleasant place to be, spent his entire life working in the city and eventually becoming its mayor, only to leave the city as worse off as it has ever been. Sprinkle in a liberal dosage of emotional appeals and a complete lack of policy or substance, and you have Booker’s announcement video.
This, of course, isn’t the first time that Corey Booker has been at the center of a cringe-inducing episode. The time during the Kavanaugh hearings when Booker claimed that he was intentionally breaking Senate rules and having a “Spartacus moment” when everyone in the Senate and the country at-large knew he wasn’t breaking any rules at all has to go down as one of the most laughable episodes in recent political history.
Nevertheless, Corey Booker is deathly serious about his Presidential run and looks to be a potential frontrunner for the Democratic nomination.
