There’s an important power struggle currently taking place within the Democratic Party as far-left “new bloods” attempt to reshape the party to fit their ideals. With the 2020 election cycle right around the corner, these new faces of the Democratic Party are all chomping at the bit to stake their claim as leaders of this new movement — and they’re losing their minds in the process.
The far left faction of the party is one that is driven by feelings over facts. In order to one-up each other, therefore, it’s not enough for politicians such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Andre Cuomo to outline their policies. Instead, they have to prove to the nation that they are more compassionate and emotionally appealing than their rivals.
As you can imagine, the result of this fight for the heart of their base has already lead to some comical statements and is quickly spiraling out of control. A competition to see who can come up with the best ideas for the country is beneficial to everyone; a competition about who can prove that they care the most creates a madhouse of pandering and crocodile tears.
