John Stossel Exposes the Hidden Taxes You’re Paying
How did you fare this tax season? Did you file at the last minute, or did you turn your paperwork in early?
If you’re a head of household or a business owner, then you probably look at tax time with dread. If you’re an independent contractor, you probably think about fleeing to the south pacific each time April comes around.
We know that governments do not produce anything except regulations, laws, and a monopoly on force. Governments provide no product, no innovation, and have no creative ability whatsoever. Every bit of power and capability a government has is taken directly from the people they govern. If a government takes its revenue by force, or by the threat of force, it is theft.
That’s the situation we all live in. Either you are a willing subject, or you give up your earnings under duress. Otherwise, you are in jail, or dead at the hands of federal law enforcement. Revolutionaries fought over a level of taxation that today, we would hardly notice. But after World War One, more and more taxes slowly became a part of our lives. And now we have accepted it as normal and necessary.
Before WW1, there was no income tax, and Americans thought such a thing would be tyrannical. The government promised to end it after the war. But, of course, they found additional reasons to keep it and here we are — 300 million victims of theft on a regular basis.
But, what if we told you that there are more taxes that you don’t even know about? John Stossel has more on hidden taxes.
