By propping up Greta Thunberg – the 16-year old climate activist from Sweden – as an authority on climate change and national policy, those on the left have sunk to a new low. No matter what argument leftists give regarding the reasons why we should take Thunberg seriously, the fact still remains that they are using a child to fuel hysteria.
Of course, this certainly isn’t the first time that leftists have used children to push fear and hysteria. Take, for example, the Parkland shooting survivors that were made into media darlings by a leftist media that was all too eager to give them a spotlight, or the way that those on the left have used immigrant children in an attempt to push for open borders.
In spite of the many examples that can be found of the left using children to fuel hysteria, though, the left’s treatment of Greta Thunberg is the most egregious. Having a child lecture the United Nations on a topic she can’t possibly understand is little more than an attempt to play on our emotions and fears. While those on the left are busy attacking anyone who disagrees with Greta for having the nerve to argue with a child, the reality is that they are the ones who put Greta in this situation to begin with.
