“You are fake news!”
Do you remember when President Donald Trump made that one lightning strike of a statement right into Jim Acosta’s fat mug early in 2017? It was beautiful.
When Trump said that, he validated the millions of people who had come to the slow and uncomfortable realization that they could not trust the mainstream media. It brought us to an apprehension of the fact that we had been lied to by the organizations we had trusted for generations.
After the 2016 election, the failing New York Times actually apologized for not doing their due diligence before reporting on the polling numbers. Of course, they immediately turned around and began doubling down on all of the unverified and biased claims they have always made. But at least they admitted they were wrong, once, ever.
But that was a long time ago now.
Now the mainstream media is fighting for its life in a world where no one capable of critical thought trusts them. They are starving for views in a world where people look things up for themselves online and watch YouTube. Even with massive amounts of censorship, people are still finding ways around the stultifying Democratic News Hate machine, and getting closer to the truth than they ever have before.
But it’s not all scary and boring. A lot of it is pretty damned funny. Take, for example, Jim Acosta. He’s really losing his cool over the fact that no one listens to him.
