Sen. Lindsey Graham Promises More Conservative Judges
For Trump supporters and members of the Republican party, the midterm elections were somewhat bittersweet.
On one hand, Democrats were able to take control of the House, ensuring that Trump will have an incredibly difficult time moving forward with his agenda for the duration of his first term and giving Democrats the power to open one senseless investigation after the other.
On the other hand, though, Republicans were able to hold onto the Senate and will likely gain seats in the Senate once all the votes are counted, and the “blue wave” that the mainstream media has been promising turned out to be nothing but a ripple. The biggest silver lining for Republicans now that the midterms are through, though, is the fact that the conservative judicial train will keep running.
Trump may need to both chambers of Congress to pass legislation, but he only needs the Senate to confirm the judges and justices that he appoints. For the next two years, any federal judge that Trump picks – and any Supreme Court justice that he picks if he is given the opportunity – will have no problem being confirmed in a Republican majority, pro-Trump Senate. That in and of itself is certainly something worth celebrating.
