The modern left portrays itself as a champion in the fight against racism. In reality, racism is much more of a political tool for those on the left that they can use to discredit their political opponents without having to actually address their arguments than it is something that they are truly fighting against.
The latest example in a long line of instances where leftists have fallen back on claims of racism is the left declaring that a border wall and all those who support it are racist.
However, as much as the left leans on supposedly fighting racism to push their political agenda, they don’t seem too bothered by the racism that exists in their own circles. Anti-semitism runs rampant in the Democratic Party, and known anti-semitic figures such as Lois Farrakhan are promoted to positions of influence and power within the left. Only after immense amounts of political pressure did the DNC finally attempt to cut its many ties with Farrakhan.
Trying to quietly to sweep their ties to anti-semitism under the rug, though, falls well short of acknowledging the racism that exists within the Democratic Party. Of course, you can’t use racism to bludgeon your opponents if you admit that your party isn’t the symbol of racial equality that it pretends to be.
