The Cohen Tape Provides no New Information

A recording of a private conversation between Michael Cohen and his client Donald Trump has been the new media darling for the past several days, as those in the media hope yet again that this will finally be the thing that brings President Trump to his knees. Yet again, however, they are destined to be disappointed.

The Cohen tape details another woman that was allegedly paid hush money to silence information about her affair with then-candidate Donald Trump – this time with the woman in question being Playboy model Karen McDougal. As salacious as this might sound, it isn’t really any new information.

Everyone who opposes President Trump is going to oppose him whether he’s a saint with women or whether he keeps one-hundred concubines in the basement of the White House. Meanwhile, everyone who supports President Trump recognizes that his behavior with women leaves something to be desired on moral grounds. However, they support the president for his policies and his agenda rather than supporting every aspect of his character. In other words, news that Trump had another affair isn’t likely to flip a single voter who is already entrenched in their opinion of the President, as most voters at this point are.

In this regard, the Cohen tape provides no new information and is likely to be little more than a blip on the radar. To hear Sean Hannity discuss the insignificance of the tape, be sure to check out the video below.
