Americans have a lot in common with the Brits, and most of these commonalities are pretty easy to see. Obviously, we speak the same language, and come from the same socio-political traditions. Of course, the United States itself would not be a country without the British Empire, and though America was born in revolt, the two countries have a “special relationship” on the world stage.
But, this isn’t all the two countries have in common. Apparently, the mainstream media in the United Kingdom is just as corrupt and transparently biased as the media here in the United States. The fact that this bias cuts in the same direction is no accident, either.
The British media treats Brexiteers the same way American media treats Trump supporters. In a way, this makes sense, because the sprit behind both of those political movements is basically the same. These are people who don’t want to be governed by foreign bureaucrats, want control over their own borders, and a free economy.
Considering all of this, the fact that the BBC made so many errors about the recent election in the UK is not at all surprising. Here’s Michael Knowles with more.
