Former Vice President Joe Biden may have strengths as a Presidential candidate, but being an eloquent and effective speaker isn’t one of them.
In fact, it’s probably safe to assume that Biden would have had a better shot of reaching the White House if he’d never had put himself on full display during a live debate. This is a point that Biden hammered home in the recent Democratic debate with what will go down as one of Biden’s most hilariously unfortunate debate gaffes yet.
While Biden had a poor night during the debate from start to finish, there was one moment that seemed to symbolize Biden’s complete inability to keep his own foot out of his mouth. While speaking on domestic violence, Joe Biden said “So we have to just change the culture, period. And keep punching at it and punching it and punching at it.”
Obviously, this isn’t the best language to use when discussing domestic violence…
These are the kind of verbal mistakes that a presidential candidate simply can’t afford to make — especially in the Democratic Party, where the outrage mob is all too quick to crucify someone over the slightest slip-up.
