Have you ever been in a situation where you were under attack, and when you fought back, a wave of shock went through the crowd as if you were the bad guy?

It happens all the time with schoolchildren and bullies. These kids get brutalized, often in front of many of their peers, and when they finally have had enough-and deliver a rage-filled uppercut to the bully’s jaw… well, you can guess which kid gets in trouble.

Anyway, this basically describes the situation with President Trump. The man is being called names constantly. His minor son, his wife, and his adult children are all under constant attack. His supporters are brutalized on the street, lose jobs, spouses, and friends — all because they think Trump is doing a good job.

They lie, and they accuse, and they say the foulest things they can think of. Do you remember when an unverified report on something Trump was meant to have said made them feel like it was okay to say “sh*thole” on TV? They gloried in that one. But when Trump hits back, they scream bloody murder. These are mean spirited, lying, money-grubbing, scam artists.

But despite their bloody-minded intentions, Trump keeps it light. He’s funny, he’s charming, he’s quick to praise people who do well, and he certainly knows how to get a crowd going.
