Just days after Rosanne Barr had her show canceled over an ill-advised tweet attacking the appearance of one of President Obama’s former senior advisors, Samantha Bee – the washed-up comedian who called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c*nt” for posting a picture of her with her son – was given an award by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for “advancing social change”.
This series of events, all taking place in the same period of a few weeks, shows the depth of Hollywood’s hypocrisy – conservative celebrity Rosanne attacks a liberal political figure and loses her job, liberal celebrity Samantha Bee attacks a conservative political figure and is given an award.
This, of course, is just one example of Hollywood judging liberal and conservative celebrities with entirely different standards. Suffice it to say that if you operate within the Hollywood sphere and lean right you had better not give those in power any reason to come after you. Meanwhile, far-left celebrities – which is the majority of Hollywood celebrities by far – are given a free pass to say whatever they want about whoever they want to target.
