Germany’s Angela Merkel Wants the U.K. to ‘Suffer’ for Brexit

Not long before Americans shocked the world by staging a populist revolt against globalist elitism by electing Donald Trump as their president, Brits did the same by voting to remove the United Kingdom from the European Union.

Years later, under the leadership of Conservative Prime Minister Theresa May, the U.K. is still negotiating its “soft” breakup with the Eurocrats in Brussels. Despite the mandate by the British people being very clear, May and her Tory Remain supporters have been keen on slowing Brexit down as much as possible. The result has been EU leaders gaining a significant advantage at the negotiating table, and the U.K.’s Conservative Party losing just about any remaining credibility it had with its base.

As if Eurocrat feelings on the matter couldn’t be any more obvious, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has now gone on the record saying that the United Kingdom should “suffer” as a result of its decision to leave the trading bloc. Now, you would figure this would signal that Theresa May would need to be more firm in standing up for the British people, right? Wrong.

Quite the opposite has happened, actually.
